Meet Katie,

Founder & Principle Interior Designer

I’m an interior designer, technical drafter and the founder of Forma Nova Interiors.

My approach to design comes from understanding both sides of the process — how a space should feel, and how it actually gets built.

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Interior Architecture and a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design with Distinction, but some of my most valuable experience has come outside the classroom — working alongside builders and trades, spending time on job sites, producing permit and construction drawings, and seeing firsthand what happens when beautiful ideas meet real-world construction.

That experience shaped the way I design today. I care about the details, I understand the technical side, and I’m not afraid of the complicated parts of a project.

I originally founded Drafting Perspectives to bridge the gap between design intent and construction execution. Forma Nova grew naturally from that work — bringing the technical knowledge I’d built together with the creative side of design I’ve always loved.

My work is influenced by art history, architecture and the foundations of design. I believe you should understand the rules before you break them, respect what came before without being confined by it, and design spaces that feel like they belong to the people who live there.

I’ve called the Sea to Sky home for the past nine years, and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be designing.
